Description
This bread has the advantage of being totally easy and relatively fool proof. We bake it over a fire in cast iron and we typically bake a batch every day on the trail.
- 4 C. White Flour
- 4 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- Dash of Sugar
- 1/3 C. Oil
- Enough water to make a stiff dough.
Mix the dry ingredients, then oil, then slowly add water so it can be briefly kneaded as dough. This is not a batter bread. Grease the pan and bake until brown and wood sliver comes out dry.
Makes enough for 4 people. Some people put in raisins.
